Hey everybody! Why didn’t anyone ever tell me how awesome Toronto is?!? Holy crap what a great place and the con was perfect. Torontonianites are the coolest people EVAR! Seriously I had a good time, Tiziano and Kevin and all the other guys that run the little Toronto con did one great job. I felt like a total rockstar the whole time. Thanks guys! And thanks to all you people who stopped by my table and got a sketch, if you want I’d love to get a scan of them to put in a future trade paperback or future sketchbook or even to post here.

I hope everyone was happy with their sketches, I had to rush a few of them especially at the end of the con Sunday night, I had to leave early to catch my flight. Sorry to those I had to cutoff, I wish I could’ve drawn for everybody that wanted something but there just wasn’t enough time. I appreciate you all stopping by and sharing your enthusiasm with me about Invincible. I enjoyed it! The con got me all amped up, People are really excited about Invincible and can’t wait for issue 50. Which should be out in May sometime.

Here is the cover for the Comics Journal issue # 289 featuring a HUGE interview with Robert Kirkman. Definitley a fun cover to draw, never tried Battle Pope or Rick from Walking dead before so it was quite fun to do.

kirkman

Thanks!

Ryan

That’s a great image of Kirkman and his Characters. When are you coming to Virginia, Ryan? If there’s not a comiccon, you can just come over for some tacos. :D

    Hey Ryan,

It was a blast having you up in T.O. Nothing finer than a late Friday night having wings and listening to Bob hold court to start your T.O. trip :-)

We’ll have to talk one day about that Atom Eve/Batusi sketch :-)

Sweet TCJ cover. Battle Pope rocks.

    Cheers,

    Ty

I was gonna try to get a sketch from you when I was there but the line was crazy long when I got there. Maybe next time. Your Batman sketch was the best of the three. You really went all out in completing that sketch.

    Thanks everybody!

ryanamandaanna- just come to Heroes con in Charlotte NC in June. Bring the tacos.

Ty Buttars- yeah man, I felt bad I didn’t get that done for you. I gotta do that for you someday soon!

Larry- Aw thanks man. I had a lot of fun doing that sketch-off thing, well except for the speaking in public part. heh.

Tiziano! Hey thank you bro! You rock as well and you know it. Awesome con, I hope y’all have me back someday! Thanks again.

    Hey Ryan!

Thanks again for coming to Toronto. It’s good to hear you had a great time. Make sure you come back to the big show at the end of August.

I was lucky enough to get an Atom Eve sketch from you (I had to come back the second day because I forgot to bring my sketch book!). It looks fantastic! Even my non-comic friends were blown away, especially when i told them how quick it took you to draw it.

I love watching really talented people do what they do best, and you are no exception. From seeing your work, the amount of emotion you are able convey on a piece of paper is truely stunning. Awesome work!

Oh! Kirkman…if you’re reading this. Get this guy to do a few issues of the Walking Dead !!! I’d love to see what Ryan can do with it.

    Thanks again for everything!
    Erik

PS — What do i have to do to get another sketch done by you? My GF asked me what i wanted for my birthday and I can think of nothing better to spend her (which is really my) money on.

  12. Brandon says:

Hey dude you should come to Montreal we bleed red white and blue LOL.

  13. Kevin Boyd says:

    Thanks again Ryan!

As a big fan of your work on Invincible I knew that the TO fans would love to meet you, I’m happy to read that you had a great time.

FYI I’m really happy with the pages I bought, and I’ll be saving up to buy more when I see you in the summer!

    Kevin

  14. Brad says:

so if you say this is the first time drawing battle pope and rick, does that mean you’ve drawn pictures of robert before???

  15. Ryan says:

Erik, Thanks man! I only do sketches at cons for now, so you’ll have to wait until I come to Toronto again which I hope is sooner than later.

Brandon, Someone asked me to come to a Montreal con, he said he’d e-mail me. Depending on the date it could be a possibility.

Kevin! Thanks for all the help at the con. Glad you like those pages. I forget which ones you got, I was looking for the cover to 52 the other day and I forgot if I sold that one or not.

Brad, yes I HAVE drawn Robert before. Check the sketches in the back of the Hard Covers. I drew Robert as a Viltrumite. And someone asked for a sketch at a con of Robert getting punched by Invincible.
