Superman/Batman Annual #1
Thought I’d post some VERY random panels from this annual for you all to see. It’s a teaser of sorts. Cliff Rathburn inked everything you see here, Don Hillsman II inked another part of my pages also. And it’d also be good to tell you I didn’t do ALL the art for the book, in the beginning it was just Ed McGuiness and I doing all the art, well then it was getting close to deadline so they got other artists to finish it off but I did get a large portion in. Wish I could’ve done it all but their deadline was just a tad bit TOO tight for me since I do draw a monthly book full time. But it was alot of fun to work on this thing, Ed McGuinness is the coolest guy, I really appreciate him hooking me up with this gig, the guy just rocks and his art is mind blowing. Joe Kelly’s script is great, lots of fun, crazy stuff going down in this thing. And the editors at Dc are cool people, good to work with. I might do more work with them someday in the future, the FAR future. Seriously though I love Invincible too much to leave. I havn’t read a super-hero book out there that’s better. And I learned that doing side work while I have a monthly book to do is fricken DIFFICULT! So yeah, not sure if I’ll do much side work for a long while.
Last I heard the Annual will be out late this month. See ya.

was there ever a moment where you sat back and thought… HOLY SHIT, I’M DRAWING BATMAN AND SUPERMAN.
I think I would be behind in my schedule because every five minutes I’d be sitting back and thinking that.
Great work man.
Looks great. I was just checking if you posted more of your work on the annual in anticipation for it tomorrow at work. Should’ve checked in earlier. Great damn work. Seriously, I know this is going to kiss you butt hard enough to give you a hickie, but I tell people to buy Invincible because it’s the closest thing to reading Spider-Man in the 70’s. You’re easily the Romita Sr. to Kirkman’s Lee. I hope DC or Marvel doesn’t end up paying you more money than robot Jesus to do one of their books instead of Invincible. That is unless you and Kirkman take over Ultimate Spider-Man… but still, not even then.
It was a great comic, so kudos to you. I liked the wisk in Earth-(Two, Prime, X, whatever’s) shoulder. Excellent comedy comic as opposed to today’s more common harsh, cruel evil comics.
Great Art, Great Comic… Keep ‘em coming.
Dude, Ryan this is awesome. I checked out the comic this weekend and it was sweet. well done sir. glad to see your talents being used in other areas as well as the kick ass work on Invincible. Keep it up bro!
Also, any of your work from this book for sale?
Moris,
Yes I sent some pages to Splashpage art, it should be up soon. I have a link to Splashpage in my link section.
Your style worked very well with Ed’s on this book. I didn’t even notice the transition had occured until two or three pages later because the story flowed so well in between.
