Haha, that’s sucks Ryan. I’ve had my nephews dephile some of my drawings too. I remember, when I was 12 my 1 year old nephew ruined a painting of mine so I painted his Barney green. I was 12 so that makes it okay. Of course his mom didn’t think so.

This rocked. I love it when artists show that mishaps like this can happen. Rarely do artists also go back and fix the mistakes so it was a nice change of pace to see what can happen, even to pros. Sorry you had to deal with that, but for what it is worth, this might be one of your favorite pieces ever.

Don- I don’t normally pencil this tight. With all the shading on Nolan’s face I wanted it to look good so I spent more time tightening things up.

Mafus- That is TRUE!

Kyle- I didn’t open up a place, I rent an office in a small office building close by. And yeah, Invincible does well for me.

Howard Shum- Sounds like a pain! I use to use ink like that when I inked but now it’s all brush pens for me. So no more spilling!

Sorry, Ryan — in that I laughed when I saw the red ink stuff. I don’t have kids, but I feel your pain.

I remember way back ago when I somehow accidentally spilled a bunch of india ink on an almost finished Aquaman page. This was before DC had stuff scanned so I had to fix it with white paint.

You moved out of home and into an office? Not to be nosey–but I will anyway–are you doing so well on Invincible that you’re able to open your own place? I was just curious to know what allows a comic artist to be able to move out of home to their own studio/office.

Hell, maybe it’s a freebee from an aunt. :/

Oh, man. Yikes. I know that’s not supposed to be funny but I laughed until I almost peed my pants. Nice job fixing it. I would have given up and started over. That’s going to be a great story to tell the grandkids. You know. When they screw up one of Quentin’s drawings and he gets mad at them.

Oh MAN!! Yeah, I have 3 boys and I totally know what you mean — love your kids and all, but for goodness sake lock up your work if you don’t want it destroyed by some curious kid who wants to join in the art fun!

Love the peek behind the curtains! I didn’t realize you pencilled this tightly (with shading and everything), considering you do your own inks. Thanks for sharing!
