Invincible 54

So 54 hit the shelves on Wednesday this week. Hope you guys liked it! I thought I’d post some pencils I did from the issue. As you can see these are super tight pencils because I have an inker now. Normally I pencil loosely and ink over that, but with an inker I gotta put more into it. Cliff Rathburn is doing a great job, it’s nice having that guy on board, we are getting issues done quickly and trying to fix this schedule of ours.  Hope you are liking the new art along with the new schedule!

Here’s a bunch of stuff for you all since I haven’t posted in a while. This is from a couple draw nights and the Ghostbuster was partly done at Comicon for a friend.

I think issue 54 of Invincible should be coming out today, I’ll post some pencils from that pretty soon. We are definitely doing better schedule wise, 55 is at the printers, 56 is half way done. So I hope you all are liking it! On time in 2009 is what we’re getting ready for, hopefully I can keep it up. Rathburn on inks totally helps out so we should be good.

This first one is of course a Ghostbuster. I just recently watched the first movie again and it holds up pretty well. I hope they make a 3rd.

Ghostbustin'

Here’s a few random sketches, I don’t always have good ideas.

Wolvie loves Prozac

You could say the top left drawing here is Venom, he can change his costume right? The bottom one is Cosmic Spidey, he’s always close to my heart since I started reading comics when this Cosmic stuff was going down. Fun times.

Ya gots ta love the power cosmic

And last and most definitely least, here is lil’ motorcycle boy having a gay ol’ time.

Thanks for stopping by.

Chalk art

So someone asked if I’d participate in some chalk drawing that was going on over at a nearby Elementary School.  A couple local artists came by and did their thing to celebrate the contest the kids are going to be doing here pretty soon called Reflections. I use to do those art contests back when i was in School and I loved those things. So I had to go show my support and do some art. I’ve never done any chalk drawing before, it’s always fun trying new ways to draw. My Draw night buddy Jon Diesta gave me the tip to wrap my fingers with masking tape for the blending. It helped a lot and added quite a lot to the piece. It was a little intimidating at first laying down the chalk but once ya get a feel for what the chalk can do you just run with it. The knight is supposed to be wearing a helmet with horns, but yeah, it looks like a Cowboy hat, ah well. It took me exactly 2 hours start to finish.
A few people mentioned I’ll be giving kids nightmares with this thing, to which I said “BAH, whatever!” The only reason I chose to draw a Dragon was because that’s pretty much all I drew as a kid. So if I dug it as a kid, I bet these kids might like it too. Here’s some photos for ya.
